San Diego Braille Institute Regional Sight Center
The San Diego Center provides free services to San Diego and Imperial County residents and is located in the heart of the University Town Center area. This beautiful center offers many classes for adults and young people, Library Services, Low Vision Rehabilitation consultations, a Vistas shop and more.

Here are some of the exciting upcoming events at our Center!
MTS (Metropolitan Transit
System) Presentation — Wednesday, March 10 @ 10:00 a.m.
Braille Institute’s San Diego
Regional Center will be visited by staff from MTS (Metropolitan Transit System)
for a paratransit presentation, on-the-spot application processing and a
simulation ride on one of their “new” buses.
“Terminals to Tarmac” Airport Tour for the Visually Impaired — Thursday, March 11 — 10:00 a.m. - Noon
Braille Institute’s San Diego
Regional Center has arranged for a “Terminals to Tarmac” tour with the San
Diego International Airport and Transportation Security Administration to
highlight the needs of travelers with visual impairments and inform our
students about the services available to them at the airport (and before they
even arrive for travel).

trip will be scheduled in the near future!)
Special Macular Degeneration
Seminar — Friday, March 19 @ 10:00
Braille Institute’s San Diego
Regional Center has scheduled trip planning and travel to hear Dr. Anne
Hanneken (ophthalmologist with Scripps) speak on Macular Degeneration.
International Technology and Persons with Disabilities
Conference in San Diego — Thursday, March 25 and/or Friday, March 26
Trip planning is underway for students and staff from the
San Diego Regional Center to attend the 25th Annual International Technology
and Persons with Disabilities Conference. This internationally acclaimed
conference features the latest and greatest technological advancements for
those with visual impairments and other disabilities. Sure to be fun and
informative!
