Congratulations to Vista PEAK Exploratory P-8 student Alexiele “Lexi” Mink, who recently earned third place in the Colorado Regional Braille Challenge.
The first grader was one of more than 50 blind and visually impaired students from across the state to test their braille skills in this academic competition. The Colorado Regional Braille Challenge is one of nearly 40 partner agencies who participate in the Braille Institute’s North American braille literacy program. At the daylong regional event, students ages 6 to 19, competed in five challenging categories: reading comprehension, braille spelling, chart and graph reading, proofreading and braille speed and accuracy.
APS is proud of Lexi on her accomplishment!
