Freud and Jung: Similarities and Differences
July 19, 2019 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm| Free
These two major theorists of Depth Psychology began as friends and psychoanalytic colleagues. That relationship ruptured as major differences arose between them. After a brief look at the similarities in their thinking, we will explore how they differed as individuals and disagreed over eight major issues, including the nature of the unconscious, the function of dreams, sexuality, the role of religion and the cause of psychopathology. Current adaptations of Freudian and Jungian concepts into Humanistic Psychology and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy will be presented.
This workshop is presented by Lawrence Solomon, PhD and is FREE for Braille Institute students, volunteers and Library subscribers. All others should contact San Diego Oasis by phone at (619) 881-6262 or email, sandiegooasis.org
