The Evolution of American Folk Music with Chris Burns
September 28, 2018 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 pm| Free
The American spirit lives in the music of the colonies, Appalachia, the Great Plains, and the city folk houses. This is music of the ‘regular folks’ and their experience of America. This is the soundtrack of America! Featured artists will include Alison Brown, Peter, Paul, and Mary, and San Diego’s Sam Hinton. From the Colonial pubs to the beatnik coffee houses to today’s folk music scene – 400 years of American expression.
This workshop is facilitated by Oasis and is FREE for Braille Institute students and Braille Institute Library subscribers. All other individuals should contact San Diego Oasis by phone at (619) 881-6262 or email: sandiegooasis.org
