Join us as we discuss what’s new in technology and digital resources for users who are blind or visually impaired.
Workshop #1 – Reed Strege, Director of Library Services at Braille Institute will lead a workshop that discusses everything you should know about podcasting, digital music streaming, and audiobooks. In this brand new workshop, we will cover different types of services, their accessibility options, how they are organized, and the benefits and costs of each. Open up your world to new audio content that is becoming available every day!
Workshop #2 – Ben Pomeroy, Director of Digital Programs at Braille Institute will lead a workshop that covers what’s new in Voice Activated Home devices. You’ll see how your Google Home or Amazon Dot can be used to control your living environment, play your music, make phone calls and much more, with just your voice. We will provide each attendee with a list of options, prices, etc. for all configurations. This affordable technology is going to change the way we interact with our living environment and will be especially useful for people who are blind or visually impaired!
