Make A Gift

All of Braille Institute’s services are free of charge due to our generous donors. The impact of your gift helps tens of thousands of children and adults who are blind or visually impaired lead independent, active and fulfilling lives.

When you make a gift, you enable individuals to live well with vision loss. You help to build their confidence to live independently and navigate the world around them. You open the door to hundreds of classes ranging from arts and healthy living to technology skills where they can learn, connect, and find joy. You make a difference!

Get Involved – Volunteer

We’re changing lives, and you can help! Volunteers are an important reason we’re able to serve an ever-growing number of people who are experiencing vision loss and blindness.
Volunteer opportunities range from short-term to long-term assignments. From welcoming guests, teaching and guiding our students, to helping us share information about living with vision loss, volunteers play a vital role in our organization and in the lives of those we serve.

Get Involved – Fundraising

Braille Institute has four regional auxiliary groups that support the charitable activities, programs, and services across southern California. In addition, auxiliaries heighten community awareness of Braille Institute. Each of our auxiliaries creates its own dynamic fundraising activities and works to heighten community awareness of the organization.
For information on joining an auxiliary, please contact Caryn Gates at CGates@BrailleInstitute.org or (323) 906-3156.

While our centers remain temporarily closed due to COVID-19, we are bringing “remote” classes and services to you within the comfort and safety of your home. You can participate in “live classes” with a Braille Institute instructor by video or phone call. Like all of our programs and services, these are free of charge.
