From the President
Dear Friend,
As we approach the holiday season, gratitude is in the air at Braille Institute. Our students express gratitude for the progress they have made during the past year — the skills they have learned and the increased independence they have achieved.
I hear so many of them express heartfelt appreciation that all the services at Braille Institute are provided free of charge.
My heart is also filled with gratitude for your support. Thanks to your gifts, our students have access to a wide breadth of free classes and services that transform their lives.
In this issue of Scene, you’ll read inspiring stories about students who have become donors just like you. Angela, who is thankful for her newfound skills, has become a monthly donor. Nancy, who we helped return to work, is supporting Braille through a charitable gift annuity. And, Maile, who learned she can still do anything she needs to do—maybe a little slower or differently—has remembered Braille Institute in her will.
We look forward to staying connected with you through the coming year as we continue to see the lives of those who are visually impaired transformed on a daily basis.
With our best wishes for the holiday season and heartfelt gratitude for all that you do,
Peter A. Mindnich
President
