Summer Reading Program
Readsquared Mobile App
Welcome to the 2021 Summer Reading Program! The theme of our reading program this year is Tails and Tales.
As we all continue to adjust to our current situations at home, school or work, our library has also made some adjustments to keep our programs going during these changing times. This year, Summer Reading will be completely remote, and it will be shorter, only four weeks, beginning on August 23, 2021 and ending on September 17, 2021. Your goal will be simple: read a minimum of 30 minutes per day for the duration of Summer Reading!
To sign up for this year’s Summer Reading Program, go to http://brailleinstitute.readsquared.com and register your name in your age group. Each participant must have their own account. Each participant’s name can only be registered once. You may use READsquared on your computer or you can download the READsquared app if you have a smart device (just search for “Braille Institute” when prompted). Don’t forget to log in your reading minutes through your Readsquared account.
To find books, you can browse the online catalog, download audio and braille books from BARD, or call the Library to order books. We now offer books-on-demand service where you can receive multiple titles on one single cartridge! You may select your own titles for your personalized cartridge, or you can simply order the SRP cartridge for your grade level and we will send you a cartridge loaded with a variety of books to get you started.
All Summer Reading participants will receive a prize, and there will be a drawing for special prizes for those of you who are able to complete the 30-minutes-for-30-days challenge! We hope you will enjoy this year’s program.
